Informed Engineering expands to meet demand for complex infrastructure delivery

Informed Engineering has grown rapidly over the past 12 months, expanding its team, moving into larger offices and strengthening its senior management. The growth reflects rising demand for its engineering and information management expertise on complex infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally.

The business has evolved alongside the needs of the projects it supports. Its early focus was  on CAD management developed into BIM and digital engineering services, today, Informed Engineering operates as an engineering firm specialising in digital information management, bringing technical delivery and information expertise together across the project lifecycle.

That evolution has created opportunities to work on major programmes, including HS2, Thames Tideway Tunnel and projects associated with Rolls-Royce and Statera Energy. As the scale and complexity of its work increased, the company invested in the people and infrastructure needed to deliver it. It recruited specialists, expanded its leadership capacity and introduced systems and technology to support more effective collaboration and delivery across growing teams.

These changes have enabled Informed Engineering to increase its operational capacity while maintaining the technical oversight that complex projects require.

After annual turnover increased by 61% over the past 12 months, Chief Executive Tom Price said: “Our growth is the result of a clear decision about the kind of business we want to build. Complex infrastructure projects require strong engineering expertise, reliable information and teams that can work effectively across disciplines and locations. We have invested in our people, leadership and systems so that we can support clients at greater scale without losing the quality of thinking and delivery they rely on.”

The company’s progress was recognised in July 2026 when it won SME Consulting Firm of the Year at the New Civil Engineer Awards. The award followed a period of what was already substantial growth in 2025 and reflected its contribution to the delivery of infrastructure work over the past few years.

Looking ahead, Informed Engineering is focused on complex national infrastructure, including rail, roads, bridges and underground systems. Building teams across markets forms part of its strategy to serve new clients in the UK and internationally.

“Our ambition is to be a trusted source of engineering and whole lifecycle information management expertise on the projects that matter most,” Tom added. “That means understanding how information is created, used and handed over, and making sure it supports sound decisions from design through delivery and operation.”

For Informed Engineering, growth is tied to that long term purpose: developing the expertise, capacity and business foundations to take on larger challenges while delivering work clients can depend on.
