Tom is the Chief Executive and founder of Informed Engineering, he brings over two decades of experience, from starting his career as a trainee with Arup and having worked across the UK, Copenhagen and Hong Kong within its Highways, Rail and Bridges divisions. Tom is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
With a strong foundation in CAD and BIM, Tom’s expertise centres on practical deployment of Information Management systems, supported by a broad career portfolio including site supervision, asset inspection, Common Data Environment (CDE) configuration and management, cost and commercial risk analysis and dispute resolution. His comprehensive understanding of construction projects allows him to provide strategic and commercial guidance on organisational information management, technical project information delivery, team structure and resource management, asset information collection, CAD/BIM modelling and 4D planning.
Tom’s approach prioritises clarity and simplicity, focusing on delivering value to project leadership teams by streamlining processes and minimising technical jargon, ensuring effective implementation of BIM and information management strategies and provision of teams capable of delivering high levels of quality over sustained periods of time.
Victoria Grainger

Victoria is an experienced Senior 3D BIM Technician with over 15 years in the engineering and construction industry. She has worked across major infrastructure projects in the rail, civil, structural and maritime sectors, including significant contributions to HS2, Crossrail and Network Rail schemes.
Victoria brings advanced expertise in 3D and 4D modelling, BIM coordination and CAD standards compliance, with a strong focus on collaboration, accuracy and digital innovation. She played a key role in the 3D modelling of the Colne Valley Viaduct, one of the most complex and high-profile structures on the HS2 route. In addition, she has contributed to 4D modelling using Synchro to support construction sequencing and planning on HS2, enhancing project visualisation and coordination.
Her technical experience covers bridges, tunnels, viaducts, drainage, roads and utilities, along with managing data catalogues, BIM execution plans and clash detection processes. Victoria is proficient in multiple software including: OpenBuildings, Synchro, MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads and ProjectWise. Known for her clear communication, attention to detail and proactive problem-solving, Victoria plays a key role in delivering high-quality digital engineering solutions on complex infrastructure programmes.
Andy Purdy

Andy bringing more than thirty years of professional experience rooted in the civil-engineering and petrochemical sectors. He leads the planning, coordination and delivery of BIM and information management services for complex, large scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects. His responsibilities span all aspects of information delivery, from establishing Common Data Environments (CDE), developing and maintaining BIM Execution Plans and asset information strategies, to performing detailed 3D modelling, as-built documentation and structured data handover via standardised formats such as .ifc and COBie.
Andy has supported several high-profile infrastructure initiatives, including major tunnelling and rail projects, where his work has involved BIM coordination, risk identification, supply-chain integration and asset data validation. Notably, he has contributed to projects such as the Thames Tideway Tunnel, Silvertown Tunnel, and segments of HS2.
Over his long and varied career, Andy has demonstrated an ability to bridge technical expertise with pragmatic project delivery, ensuring that digital engineering standards and advanced modelling techniques translate into tangible, compliant and well-managed information for construction and asset-handover phases. His breadth of sector experience lends him versatility and credibility across different engineering disciplines, project types and delivery frameworks.
Jack Fitzgerald

Jack began his career as an apprentice partition and ceiling fitter before moving into residential construction. He later served in the British Army with the Royal Artillery, where he developed the leadership, discipline and commitment to quality that continue to define his professional approach. This combination of practical experience and a “right first time” mindset brings structure and clarity to Informed Engineering, supporting the organisation's continued growth.
Jack's introduction to CAD sparked a rapid progression in his digital skillset. Within just 18 months, he advanced to Project Manager and BIM Technician, leading a CAD team and delivering high-quality outputs. His achievements include delivering as-built documentation for London's Thames Tideway Tunnel ahead of programme, all while training to become a ProjectWise Administrator.
Jack also oversees Informed Engineering's ISO accreditations, managing the full suite of processes and policies that secured UKAS-accredited certifications and Cyber Essentials Plus. His blend of hands-on industry knowledge, digital capability and operational discipline makes him a key contributor to the company's operational excellence.
Daniel Huart

Daniel began his career as an engineer working on the Northern Line Extension project in London, working within both the MEP and BIM teams designing and coordinating the building services as well as ensuring the BIM project standards were met.
From there, Daniel has worked on various projects including HS2 where the data requirements necessitated a level of automation to ensure rigor. From here, Daniel has developed, studied and mastered necessary non-standard skills for an engineer such as coding in multiple languages, app creation, creation of databases and running dashboards from them. Daniel's understanding of the relationship between construction engineering, CAD and data has proven instrumental for projects to successfully meet their information requirements.
Daniel's strength is his ability to spot opportunities to add value to projects by helping the team access vital information. For example, automating all site drawing registers and creating a system for sending automated emails when new construction revision drawings are ready. Tools like these save projects incalculable amounts of money by reducing mistakes and rework.
Andrew Boyle

Andrew is a Senior BIM Technician with 18 years experience working in the AECO industry. Andrew is committed to ensuring the seamless integration of BIM standards and practices throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with engineers, clients and stakeholders to meet project requirements. He has proven success in managing the production of complex 3D models and drawings as well as being proficient in a range of BIM tools, including many Bentley Systems and Autodesk software products.
Andrew began his career as an apprentice at Arup, then moving on to the large global contractors and consulting firms: Mott Macdonald, Skanska, Laing O Rourke and Jacobs.
Key projects that Andrew has worked on include HS2 and Thames Tideway Tunnel. Some of his major achievements include contributing to the successful and on time delivery of the Northern Line Extension project through the covid pandemic and coordinating and modelling on the Battersea Power Station development.
