Thames Tideway Tunnel
On this incredible, transformational project, to intercept the sewers built by Joseph Bazalgette in 1853 to provide Londons with the capacity it needs to serve it's residents today we have delivered Information Management consultancy. Since 2017 we have fulfilled the key responsibilities of the Information Manager role and provided BIM support to the West section of the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project, having worked with the Morgan Sindall Professional Services team designing the tunnels for two years prior to this. Our responsibilities included authoring and maintaining the BIM Executiion Plan and dozens of supporting documents for our internal team and the supply chain, identifying commercial risk, creating bespoke technical solutions to deliver .ifc and COBie alongside BIM Coordination and modelling and managing the ProjectWise Commmon Data Environment.
Riverlinx JV
Silvertown Tunnel
Riverlinx is designing and building a new 1.4km twin-lane tunnel, under the River Thames, which will be completed in Spring 2025, linking North Greenwich and Silvertown for the first time. Informed Engineering is providing resource to deliver As-Builts and validating asset information for a timely handover to TfL.
BAM Nuttall
Rolls Royce SMR
The Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor Project has a vision to provide clean affordable energy for all. The project aims to drastically reduce the amount of construction activity requested to deliver the infrastructure required of a nuclear power station. Informed Engineering provided a team to support Bam Nuttall Nuclear division with 4D planning support during the optioneering phase of the civils construction and the site factory frame. Our team used Synchro to plan crane logistics and shift patterns to determine the most efficient delivery and assembly methods for the steel structure, as well as supporting the asset information strategy.
Cadventure (Effiage Kier Ferrovial BAM Nuttall JV)
HS2
EKFB is appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across 80km of high speed rail between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood including 15 viaducts, 6.9km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 81 bridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation. Informed Engineering is working as a sub-consultant to Cadventure to provide Information Management support and ProjectWise Administration, ranging from account management, workflow rules engine configuration, team training, process documentation and migration and archiving of a designers ProjectWise datasource.
Skanska Costain Strabag JV
HS2
The joint venture of Skanska, Costain, and STRABAG (SCS JV) holds the responsibility for delivering a crucial segment of Britain's HS2 railway line between Euston station to the outskirts of Greater London. Informed Engineering were asked to undertake a review of the Stage 4 to 6 BIM processes, where the project goes from Detailed Design, into Construction and finally handover to end user. This included review and analysis of the BIM Execution Plan, as-built process and asset tagging approach and how they link into the projects systems, including ProjectWise, AssetWise and Zutec.
Cadventure (Mace Dragados JV)
HS2
Mace and Dragados were appointed to deliver the HS2 Euston Terminus. Informed Engineering worked as a sub-consultant to Cadventure. We project managed the logistics and the technical approach to a migration of a ProjectWise datasource from the Designer's Arup hosted ProjectWise into Mace Dragados own hosted ProjectWise, which included the creation and deployment of a managed workspace for OpenBuilding Designer and Advanced Integration for AutoDesk Revit. We supplied a method and documentation to undertake the migration, and carried out the work over a weekend to ensure uninterrupted working for the project team.
EnGauged
Wixams Station Development - Bedford Borough Council
Wixams Station will be located in Station Quarter at the western boundary of Wixams. Situated on the Midland Main Line between Bedford and Flitwick Stations, it will offer access to the local and national rail network. Wixams Station will be served by up to four Thameslink trains per hour in each direction. Informed Engineeering were appointed by EnGauged to produce General Arrangement drawings and models to support the optioneering process for platform layout, access and OLHE gantry positions.
Colin Eddie Consulting Limited & MCM Environmental
NAGRA
NAGRA are specialists in the development and implementation of long term solutions for radioactive waste in Switzerland. Informed Engineering were appointed by Colin Eddie Consulting Limited, to assist MCM Environmental asses NAGRA's working methods, from a BIM and Information Management perspective. We travelled to Switzerland to hold intensive workshops with the NAGRA team, hosted by MCM to understand how the team currently operate, and use their inventory so that we could identify opportunities to improve current practice.

Managing Director of Informed Engineering Limited
Tom is the Managing Director of Informed Engineering, which he founded in 2013 after working with Arup for almost 10 years in the UK, Copenhagen and Hong Kong with their Highways, Rail and Bridges departments. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and an Associate Member of the Institute of Arbitrators. Tom's key experience is in Information Management, which stems from from extensive CAD/BIM background, but this is complemented by experience throughout his career including site supervision, asset inspection, CDE deployment, configuration and management, cost/commercial risk analysis and dispute resolution. Tom is well placed to discuss anything from Organisational Information Management Strategy, Technical Project Information Delivery, Asset Information Requirements to CAD/BIM Modelling and 4D planning. His approach to BIM and Information Management is to focus on the things that are important to the Project Leadership team - keep the jargon light and the processes simple! In his spare time, Tom spends time visiting National Trust with his family, renovating property or you'll find him in the village local!
